A SMALL TOOL FOR EVERYDAY TEXT

One note.
Another device.

Online Copy Paste is a temporary bridge between your devices. Move a link, a short note, or a code snippet without creating an account or installing an app.

How to send text from a computer to a phone

  1. Open the clipboard on your computer. Type or paste your text into “Send your text.” Choose a lifetime of 10 minutes, 1 hour, or 24 hours.
  2. Create a share link. The page gives you an 8-character code, a link, and a QR code. All three open the same share.
  3. Pick it up on your phone. Open the clipboard on this website and enter the code, open the share link, or scan the QR code with your camera. Then tap “Receive text.”
  4. Copy it where you need it. Tap “Copy text” or download a plain text file. Delete the share from the sending page when you finish.

The same steps work in the other direction, or between two computers. Both devices need an internet connection. They can be on different networks.

Choose the way that fits

Use a code

Useful when both devices already have the website open. Type the 8-character code into “Pick it up here.”

Open a link

Useful when you can send or open a link on your other device. Receiving still needs a tap, so simply opening the link does not consume a one-time share.

Scan the QR code

Useful when a phone is beside your computer. Your camera opens the same share link. The QR code is generated in your browser.

Small things worth moving

You could send a shopping list from your laptop to your phone, move a public article link to a larger screen, or copy a code example to a second computer. Text keeps its original line breaks and spacing, including emoji and non-English characters.

For example, paste this note on one device, create a share, and retrieve it on another:

Remember to bring the charger 🔌
Meeting notes are in the blue notebook.

The limit is 100 KB of plain text. Files, images, attachments, and rich formatting are not supported.

Temporary means temporary

A share stops working when its selected time is up. “Delete after reading” removes the server copy after the first successful retrieval. This setting is useful for a single handoff, but it does not prevent the recipient from making a copy.

Shares are kept in server memory, not permanent storage. A server restart clears them. Keep your own copy of anything important; this tool is not a backup service.

If a share does not open

Keep private information out

Anyone with the code or link can retrieve the text. It is not end-to-end encrypted, and the server operator can access it. Use this tool for everyday, non-sensitive text. Do not send passwords, payment details, identity documents, or private work information.

Read the privacy notice to see what the service stores and how deletion works.
